Best splash pads around cleveland

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS (Alphabetized by City)

Are you ready for the best splash pads in the Cleveland area?

This blog has been a long time coming! We would’ve had this out sooner, but there are so many new splash pads this year (yay!), and we wanted to check them out before posting. And, of course, Cleveland weather has been a bit chilly for splash pads. 😆

Every splash pad on this list is FREE and doesn’t require residency. They are some of our favorites, and the splash pads we go to regularly. If you have a favorite splash pad that isn’t on this list, please share it with us!

We have organized this blog post by cities in alphabetical order.

You can also click the name of each splash pad in this post, and it will take you to the Google Map listing for the splash pad. The address is also below each heading. Lastly, you'll find some important details for each splash pad underneath the photos.

We hope this post inspires you to get your kiddos into the warm weather!

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS:
AVON LAKE SPLASH PAD

OVERLOOK PARK
160 Forest Blvd, Avon Lake, OH 44012
(See it on Instagram)

This sweet little park is called Overlook Park and we think it’s perfect for a day of relaxing and enjoying life.

There’s a cute splash pad and a newer playground.

There’s a lot of shade at this park and there are picnic tables.

Unfortunately this playground has NO bathrooms, so definitely plan accordingly (we had to drive down to the library the first time since we didn’t know there were no bathrooms ❌).

Another note is that there is only a small gravel parking lot.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS:
BEREA SPLASH PAD

MCELVEY PARK
30 E Bridge St, Berea, OH 44017
(See it on Instagram)

This one doesn’t have all the bells and whistles and reminds me of ones from my childhood. But it’s always a huge hit with my kids and it’s actually one of their favorites.

It’s right in the downtown Berea area and next to Coe Lake, which has a HUGE playground. So, it’s easy to pack a lunch and make a day of it.

Hours are from 9 am - 10 pm.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS:
BROADVIEW HEIGHTS SPLASH PAD

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS SPLASH PAD PARK
9543 Broadview Rd, Broadview Heights, OH 44147
(See it on instagram)

My daughter isn’t always a fan of water smashing her across her face for an hour (neither am I haha). This Broadview Heights Splash Pad was perfect because it had some nice little splashers that she could just put her feet in, and it had a little “river” type toy that she could play in, while still offering the big splashers and buckets of water that her brother could enjoy.

And there’s a cute park right next to the pad that the kids had a blast on.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: CLEVELAND

PUBLIC SQUARE (NOT OPEN FOR SEASON YET)
116 Rockwell Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114
(See more photos on instagram)

The public square splash pad is right across the street from Tower City. Every day, from 11a-2p, toys are available for use in the splash pad.

It was super peaceful (it wasn't blazing hot, so we had the place to ourselves), and I highly recommend checking it out this summer. The downtown views are gorgeous!

My daughter is already trying to talk my husband into bringing her back on our next family day. 😂

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS:
ELYRIA

CASCADE PARK
387 Furnace St, Elyria, OH 44035
(See more photos on instagram)

There’s also a fun trail that leads back to a beautiful waterfall that we didn’t get to walk to this time. And there’s a nearby playground.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: GRAFTON

NORTH PARK
1230 Elm St, Grafton, OH 44044
(See more photos on instagram)

My kids loved that this splash pad had built-in water guns and a fun water table!

It’s also right next to an amazing playground and a nice pavilion.

Open daily 11a-8p.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: LAKEWOOD

LAKEWOOD PARK
14532 Lake Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107
(See it on FACEBOOK)

How do you feel about big rocks in a splash pad?

There's been ALOT of chatter about this new splash pad in the local Facebook groups. When I saw pictures of the new splash pad, I thought the design was a bit odd, but I figured we'd go check it out for ourselves.

First, a few things we did love about it.

⁃ Completely fenced in

⁃ FREE, and you don't have to be a resident

⁃ Stays on until 8pm

⁃ My daughter actually loved it

Now--about those rocks.

The rocks make up about half of the splash pad. Surprisingly, they weren't a hazard to any of the kids that were there when we were. But they are real rocks, so if a kid slipped and hit their head, that would definitely be an issue. Also, with kids being kids, I assume that kids would be tempted to jump from one to another. Which, of course, could end badly.

Even though I didn't love the rock design, my daughter loved it. She said she wants to go back as soon as possible. To me, it felt similar to when my kids play in creeks (which they love to do) with big rocks in them.

My friends have kids with special needs and eye-sight loss, and they said this would be a no-go for them. Which is a total bummer, and I wish they made the splash pad more ADA-accessible.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: MEDINA

FRED GREENWOOD PARK
350 W Sturbridge Dr, Medina, OH 44256
(See it on instagram)

The kids absolutely loved this splash pad! Unfortunately for us, a thunderstorm rolled in and we only had about 40 minutes to play. So, it’s on our short list to go back!

There was a covered area with picnic tables right next to the splash pad, which is great.

There is also a pretty nice playground here and open bathrooms by the baseball fields.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: North royalton

MEMORIAL PARK
14600 State Rd, North Royalton, OH 44133
(See it on instagram)

There’s a new splash pad at North Royalton Memorial Park! It’s FREE and open to the public. 💃

My daughter said it was the ultimate splash pad. She had an absolute blast!

The splash pad is open daily 11am-7pm.

We suggest adding this park to your summer bucket list.

There’s a large playground next to the splash pad that is mostly fenced in.

You can also pack a lunch and eat under the pavilions, or at the picnic tables.

There are also bathrooms next to the splash pad.

Best Cleveland Area SPLASH PADS: OLMSTED FALLS

VILLAGE GREEN PARK
Columbia Rd & Water St, Olmsted Falls, OH 44138
(See it on Instagram)

My kids really like this splash pad even though it’s not one of the fancy new ones.

It sprays ALOT of water and switches up the directions and patterns, which is always fun.

There’s also a really nice pavilion to pack a lunch PLUS a brand new playground.

My kids loved jumping back and forth between the two.

Best Cleveland Area splash pads: westlake

CROCKER PARK (across from bibibop)
224 Crocker Park Blvd, Westlake, OH 44145
(See it on Instagram)

This fun splash pad has lots of seating for adults, and they even have a few picnic tables.

We stayed for almost two hours! After that we made our way over to Barnes and Noble because they have some of the best toy selections around, and my kids love adding things to their birthday list.
