Kids Empire Review: A Fun Indoor Playground in Strongsville for All Ages

We recently visited the BRAND NEW Kids Empire at Southpark Mall, and we had such a good time. My kids have been asking to visit a Kids Empire location for a while now, and they were so excited when I told them we’d finally be going.

I’m a ’90s girl, and walking inside Kids Empire took me right back to my childhood days at Discovery Zone!

Kids Empire has so much for kids to do and explore. From epic slides to obstacle courses, power towers to motor bikes, and indoor soccer to a dance party room – there is plenty of fun to be had by young and old alike.

That’s actually one of the things I loved most about Kids Empire – adults can play, too!

My husband and I were able to follow our kids into the play structure (we didn’t last nearly as long as our kids 🤣) so that we could share in the fun.

And after we were done playing, there was plenty of seating with great views, allowing us to keep an eye on our kids (and catch our breath) while they continued to play.

Favorite Attractions: Fun Slides, A Power Tower, Motor Bikes, & More!

The slides were a big hit with my kids. They have a few different slides, two of which allowed our kids to race each other down (which they obviously loved). One is a roller slide that’s somewhat of a throwback to the roller slides we had when we were kids, but this one is much safer because kids ride down on a mini cart (no pinched fingers or hair!).

Another really fun and unique element at Kids Empire is the POWER TOWER.

This thing is really, really cool. It’s a web of bands that let you fall through unharmed! My son especially loved trying to get down as quickly as possible.

I was so impressed with all of the climbing and obstacle course elements. I couldn’t believe how many different routes there were to take. My daughter really liked trying to find different paths to get to the slides.

My husband and son spent quite a bit of time in the indoor soccer arena. The ball is a nice foam ball, and the two goals allow you to play a mini-game. My daughter and I even hopped in for a bit for a family game of soccer – parents vs kids (we cooked ‘em 👩‍🍳🤣)!

They also have these motorbikes underneath the play structure that are really neat. They cost 5.0 flames (points), and you can buy a game card that comes with 24 flames for just $5. Flame points also work on the claw machine. The bikes don’t go very fast, but my kids really enjoyed racing each other.

A Parent’s Perspective on What To Love About Kids Empire

A few things I really appreciated about Kids Empire were that they had a separate Toddlers Area with a ball pit, free lockers, so I could store my purse while playing with my kids, and that everyone has to take their shoes off at the entrance (be sure to wear socks!).

I remember when my kids were little littles, it always grossed me out to see them crawl all over the floor where people’s dirty shoes had been. I think it’s really thoughtful that Kids Empire keeps it sanitary for little littles by having everyone who steps inside remove their shoes.

I also really appreciate the way the pricing works. Infants 0-11 months are free (if they have a sibling who is paying admission), and each kid’s admission (1-17 years old) comes with two adult admissions. And the really cool part is that you pay one price for ALL-DAY ADMISSION. Seriously – all day.

You can even leave (for example, to grab lunch from the food court) and come back later that day. As many times as you want, so long as it’s the same day!

Birthday Parties at Kids Empire: What to Expect

Kids Empire also has sweet birthday packages that are worth checking out. I think Kids Empire would be such a fun place to have a birthday party, and that every kid would have such a great time.

With both birthday packages, you get 3 hours of reserved tables, unlimited drinks, invite cards, goodie bags, and 1 motor bike ride per child.
