MLK Community Open House & Day of Music at the Cleveland Orchestra

Celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with free community performances and activities! This family-friendly event features a wide variety of community ensembles live from Severance’s Mandel Concert Hall and Reinberger Chamber Hall.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration At the Cleveland Museum of Art

10am-4pm. Monday, January 20, when the Cleveland Museum of Art opens its doors for a free daylong celebration honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Explore how the moving passages of Dr. King’s writings and speeches shed light on the museum’s collection and create a work of art inspired by his legacy. 

Guests are invited to experience the blockbuster exhibition Picasso and Paper for FREE. No tickets are required. Visitors are admitted into the exhibition throughout the day on a first-come, first-served basis.

FREE admission to the Cleveland Botanical Garden

Free  admission to the Cleveland Botanical Garden  Visitors are invited to explore the exotic glasshouses and play in the Perennial Playspace from 10:00am-5:00pm. Our Licursi Creations Annual Grinch event is DECEMBER 13th, 14th and 15th from 6-9pm.

Come meet the Green man himself! And snap a pic for the memory book. Don’t miss out on a great time for an awesome cause! This event is FREE.

We will be collecting donations for a local family! Last year we raised over 10k. Help us beat that!

The lines get long so don’t be a Grinch. So get there early! Remember this is something that we do for everyone out of the kindness of our hearts. A lot of time and resources go into these events. So come out enjoy yourselves. Please remember to respect each other and our neighbors.

Winter Solstice Luminary Walk & Holiday Market
Friday, December 13 | 5:30–8:30PM | Nature Center at Shaker Lakes

Celebrate nature and the beginning of winter!

All are invited to take a stroll on the illuminated All Peoples’ Trail boardwalk, which is ADA-accessible. Keep warm at a bonfire, or in the heated pavilion where there will be warm alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for sale. Join us inside at our nature-inspired Holiday Market and Duck Pond Gift Shop. Donations welcome. Market items, food, and beverage available for purchase.

A sensory-friendly room will be available on the second floor of the Nature Center building for anyone who needs a calm place to get away from the noise. Sensory bags are available upon request from the front desk.

Support our sustainable efforts!
We are collecting large glass marinara and sauce jars for luminaries. Please clean well and remove labels before donating to the Welcome Desk. After the Luminary Walk, they will be recycled.
