Holiday Memories with 19 Family Members at Middlehaven

We just wrapped up our holiday at Middlehaven, a gorgeous rental property by Your Family’s Place in the rolling hills of Amish Country. Hosting 19 family members might sound overwhelming, but Middlehaven made it feel effortless. It’s not just a big property—it’s thoughtfully designed for families like ours to spread out, relax, and make unforgettable memories together.
Space for Everyone (YOUNG AND OLD)
With seven bedrooms and six baths, Middlehaven gave us all the space we needed without anyone feeling cramped. The kids loved bunking together in their rooms (and staying up way too late), while the adults appreciated having their spaces to recharge.
Our favorite gathering spot was the main floor living area, where we spent hours by the fireplace playing games, sharing stories, and, let’s be honest, eating way too much dessert. And when it came time for meals, the fully stocked kitchen and huge dining table made feeding our big crew a breeze.
A GAME ROOM Dream Come True
Nine kids under twelve might sound like a recipe for chaos, but Middlehaven’s game room in the basement made our stay fun for the kids and parents. From foosball tournaments to ping-pong to endless rounds of games, the kids were entertained for hours. It was so nice to see them laughing and playing together while we adults soaked up some much-needed downtime on the main level after the holiday craze.
A Private Getaway for Grandparents
One of the standout features of Middlehaven is the Conservatory, a charming little retreat just steps away from the main house with a king bed, double shower, a stocked kitchenette, and a private deck that easily makes for slow mornings with coffee in hand. My parents stayed here and absolutely loved having their own space to relax while being able to pop over anytime to join the family for meals and special moments. It was the perfect balance of togetherness and privacy for them.
Thoughtful Touches That Made OUR STAY Special
Your Family’s Place knows how to make you feel at home. Every detail felt warm and welcoming, from the homemade cookies waiting for us when we walked through the door to the festive decor and little surprises tucked throughout the house. They’ve truly mastered the art of hospitality, and those small touches made our stay so memorable.

Middlehaven didn’t just give us a place to stay—it gave us the space to reconnect as a family. Whether it was late-night chats by the fireplace, playing cards at the large dinner table, kids giggling in the game room, or my parents enjoying a quiet moment in the Conservatory, every part of the house worked perfectly for us.
We stayed in the winter, and the property looked absolutely gorgeous with a dusting of snow. And although we weren’t able to use the two ponds located on the property, I’m sure during the warmer months, it’s an absolute blast to be able to swim and kayak steps away from the house.
