Things to Do With Kids In Cleveland March 8-10

Spring is only a few weeks away, and family-friendly events around Cleveland are starting to warm up! We’ve compiled some fun, family-friendly activities for you to do this weekend.   1. FREE Art Fridays at Play Grounds Medina Friday, March 8

2. Visit the Community Arts Center March 8-10

The community art center is open every weekend to help families and individuals of all ages connect to art and expression. You can stop in with your family to explore artwork and make free crafts in the art studios.

3.  Floral Immersive Exhibition at the Downtown Public Library

The Archive is a breathtaking installation composed of thousands of delicate flowers suspended in a display that celebrates the beauty of life.


When you’re done checking out the flowers, be sure to walk around this beautiful historic library. They have a great kids space and they have one of the world’s tiniest books. Kids (and adults!) can use a magnifying glass to see the teeny tiny print in the book.

4. Free Photos with the Easter Bunny at Tower City March 9-10

Hop by Tower Court into the enchanted Spring Garden and enjoy photos with Mr. Bunny, spring crafts, and more!

5. $2 Saturday Movies at Regal Cinemas Saturday, March 9

Regal is making it easier than ever to plan a fun Saturday morning with your kids! On Saturdays, they’re showing some of your favorite family movies — like The Super Mario Bros. Movie or Harry Potter — for just $2 a ticket at the first showtime of the day. More info is available here.

6. FREE Maple Sugar Self-Guided Tour at the Cleveland Metroparks March 9-10

For over 40 years, guests have experienced the process of gathering sap and making maple syrup at Maple Grove Picnic Area. Continue the tradition as you take a self-guided hike through the sugarbush, see demonstrations of historical syrup-making processes, visit the sugarhouse, and sample their delicious maple syrup. 7. World of Discovery at Lakeshore Learning March 9

Grab your passport and explore our big, wonderful world! Kids will create unique craft characters while they enjoy storytime, view the diverse places people live and explore animals found in different habitats. They’ll even earn passport stamp stickers along the way! Plus, we’re giving attendees of this free, walk-in event exclusive offers. Don’t miss out!

8. JCPenney Kids Zone Craft Saturday March 9

Create your own spring banner at the JCPenney Kid Zone for this month’s craft. JCPenney Kid Zone offers free crafts on the second Saturday of each month. Each child gets a craft, ID badge & lanyard, and a collector's pin. More info and locations here.

9. Moca Saturday’s designExplorr: Design Learning Challenge at moCa Cleveland

In this free interactive design workshop, attendees and professional designers work together to create solutions. This workshop was developed by designExplorr, an organization devoted to helping youth find their way to creative careers.

10.  Towpath Trail Upcycled Lantern at the Community Arts Center Saturday, March 9

In collaboration with Canalway Partners, the Community Arts Center is hosting two free lantern-making workshops with Upcycle Parts Shop to help you create art to carry in the Towpath Trail Lantern Parade. Bring a recycled glass or plastic jar to the workshop and learn how to turn it into a lantern by a professional artist. Then, bring your creation to the parade, beginning in the evening on Saturday, March 9 at Sokolowski’s Overlook.

11. 3rd Annual Towpath Trail  Lantern Parade 2024 at the Canalway Saturday, March 9

Hosted by Canalway Partners and presented by Kichler, the Towpath Trail Lantern Parade is a celebration of light, creativity and sustainability welcoming spring to the banks of the Cuyahoga River, featuring local artists displaying illuminated art made from recycled materials. All are welcome to join the parade! Simply make and bring your own lantern from recycled materials and a battery powered light. The parade includes a 1.6 mile roundtrip walk along the Towpath Trail.

12. Kids Club: Friendship Bracelets at Michaels Craft Stores Saturday, March 9

This week in Kids Club at Michael’s they’re making friendship bracelets. Choose from a selection of beads and make the bracelet you want! Some locations do require reservations in advance for this free craft. Registration info can be found here.

13. BARBIE BEACH PARTY: CELEBRATE NATIONAL BARBIE DAY Saturday, March 9

14. Family Concert: Amigos Musicales | Concierto Familiar: Amigos Musicales Saturday, March 9

Join the Community Arts Center for their first family concert! Apollo’s Fire takes the young and young at heart on an exciting musical journey from 16th-century Spain to baroque Latin America! Explore the traditions, songs, and instruments of these vibrant cultures through this lively 45-minute program. Their famous Instrument Petting Zoo follows the concert! The concert features bilingual English-Spanish artists.

Free. All ages. Preregistration is strongly encouraged.

15. Visit a Nature Center

We especially love going to Nature Centers during the winter months. Particularly because it can be hard to find ways to get out with your kids when the weather is cold. Nature Centers are often free, and they're indoors, making for a great, low-cost adventure outing. You can find a list of our favorites here.
