1. STORYTIME: CAT IN THE HAT – BUTTERFLIES Friday, May 3

Join the Cat in the Hat and learn all about butterflies. Stick around after the story to create a beautiful butterfly craft to take home.

2. Hope Heals Inflatable Teddy Bears at Crocker Park Friday, May 3 - Sunday, May 5

Hope Heals will feature five giant inflatable teddy bears that will pop up across lifestyle centers, public parks, and hospitals throughout Northeast Ohio during the spring of 2024. The 10’-20' tall inflatable teddy bears will create a colorful and joyful experience for countless visitors. HOPE HEALS is the 2023-24 Marketing/Junior Achievement Company.

3. Community Art Center Friday, May 3- Sunday, May 5

The community art center is FREE and open every weekend to help families and individuals of all ages connect to art and expression. You can stop in with your family to explore artwork and make free crafts in the art studios

4. I-Spy Nature Quest Friday, May 3 - Sunday, May 5

April showers have brought May flowers to the nature center! Visit us and see if you can find all the spring wildflowers we’ve hidden inside the building. If you can find them all, you can pick out a prize!

5. Hunt of the Month at the Canalway Center Friday, May 3 - Sunday, May 5

This month stop by CanalWay Center to look for May flowers and the pollinators who love them. We will hide 20 things inside and have bonus outside options too

6. Free Comic Book & Star Wars Day Saturday, May 4

Westlake Porter Public Library is celebrating Free Comic Book Day and Star Wars Day with a host of activities and giveaways! Beginning at 9am they will be giving out free comic books while supplies last. From 10am-2pm you can Make Your Own Comic. All ages are welcopme. You’ll also be able to visit the maker space to learn to create your own super stickers. Then, from 1-3pm you can take a selfie with the Ohio Star Wars Costume Legions. All day there will be superhero and cartoon character figures created by Westlake Resident, Mel Maurer, on display.

7. FREE Kids Star Wars Yoga Saturday, May 4

8. $2 Saturday Movies at Regal Cinemas - Saturday, May 4

Regal is making it easier than ever to plan a fun Saturday morning with your kids! On Saturdays, they’re showing some of your favorite family movies — like The Super Mario Bros. Movie or Harry Potter — for just $2 a ticket at the first showtime of the day. More info is available here.

9.  HOME DEPOT Kids’ Workshop - Saturday, May 4

The first Saturday of the month Home Depot has a free in-store workshop for kids. Each kid receives a craft to build, an apron, and a pin that has a little picture of the craft of the month. The crafts usually require them to use hammers, screwdrivers, and paintbrushes. All provided by Home Depot in-store. These projects typically take us between 30 minutes and 45 minutes.The workshop runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the first Saturday of each month. Some Home Depot’s do require registration, so be sure to check before going.

10. DROP BY: MOTHER’S DAY CARD CRAFT Sunday, May 5

Homemade cards can be a little messy to make, so you can bring the little ones by to keep the mess out of your home. Children will be using paint to make handprints. No registration required

12. Garden Wonders FREE Craft

Kids’ minds will grow and their love of nature will blossom as they learn about plants, bugs and more! They’ll prepare a free, take-home tree planting kit (while supplies last), craft a giftable bag of Wildflower Seed Hearts, view natural science specimens and more. There’s even a garden-inspired storytime! Drop in any location during the above hours—no reservations needed. See you there!
