AWESOME KID FRIENDLY RESTAURANTS NEAR CLEVELAND (Updated 2025)
Great Kid Friendly Restaurants in the Cleveland Area
My husband and I love going out to eat! After having kids, though, dining out became much more difficult. Rather than picking restaurants based on what we were in the mood for, we started picking restaurants based on whether or not we thought our kids would have a meltdown in the middle of our meal. đ¤Ş
Thankfully, over the years, weâve been able to find some fantastic local restaurants that provide great environments for kids while simultaneously having delicious menus. We plan to keep adding to this list, so keep checking back
KID-FRIENDLY RESTAURANT LIST
BOURBON STREET BARREL ROOM
2393 Professor Ave,
Cleveland, OH 44113
(See it on instagram)
First up is one of my personal favorites, The Bourbon Street Barrel Room.
I love the New Orleansâinspired decor & cuisine. The kids thought the restaurant was so fun. We even got to eat upstairs (which they thought was extra special).
They have a crazy awesome happy hour that includes two of my favorite menu items: jambalaya and hush puppies. We arrived early (5pm) to beat the dinner rush since it does get pretty full.
I also love that the kids' menu includes an entree, a side, a drink, AND BEIGNETS!!! All for only $8.95
DEWEYâS PIZZA
18516 Detroit Avenue,
Cleveland, Ohio 44107
(SEE IT ON INSTAGRAM)
This has been our go-to kid-friendly restaurant since our kids were little littles.
The chefs are always so fun and interactive with the kids!
This past time the chef was even playing tic-tac-toe with all of the kids through the window. It was so cute, and they had so much fun.
Deweyâs offers gluten-free and dairy-free options, and they make my absolute favorite pizzaâthe Edgar Allan Poe.
After dinner, we ordered cheesecake for dessert. It was delicious! I love that they source their dessert from local bakeries around town.
If youâre looking for great pizza, and a relaxed and fun environment, I highly recommend checking out Deweyâs Pizza.
Deweys has 3 locations here in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, and Fairlawn.
Beardenâs Steakburgers
19985 Lake Rd, Rocky River, OH 44116
Beardenâs has been around since 1948, serving delicious steak burgers. The old-school diner vibes are always a huge hit with our family.
My husband and son love the peanut butter steak burger (which doesn't sound like two things that should go together to me!), and they love it! The kids' meals are served in the cutest old-fashioned cardboard car and come with a mini pack of Oreos (make sure you check under the wax paper to get the Oreos). They also have kids sized milkshakes.
They also have Magic Mondays from 6-7:30 (check their Facebook to confirm) with a magician providing entertainment and sometimes balloon animals. Highchairs are available. And while youâre there, donât miss out on their delicious milkshakes!
PJ MCyntireâs PUB
17119 Lorain Ave,
Cleveland, OH 44111
(I knowâa kid-friendly pub?! đ¤Ł)
This is probably our favorite kidsâ menu. Itâs only $3.99 a kid, and itâs actually good food and comes with a lot of it.
My son said it was the best burger heâs ever had, and my daughter enjoyed her nuggets and fries. Thatâs saying a lot for her since sheâs usually picky when we go out.
I got wings, and my husband had a burger. We both really enjoyed our meals. Especially the house-made potato chips.đ
The pub is large, so there was plenty of seating when we went. We personally like the pub setting since it tends to be louder, and then we donât feel as bad if our kids are a little loud. đ
We also liked that there was a paper kidsâ menu and crayons to keep the kids busy.
The pub is really cool inside, and both my kids thought it was fun to look at the mural on the wall.
When itâs cold, they also have a really nice fireplace.
Weâll keep adding kid-friendly restaurants to the blog, so feel free to share some of your favorites with us!
CHOOLAH
2207 Crocker Rd Suite A, Westlake, OH 44145
Choolah is a fast-casual Indian BBQ restaurant that makes my heart skip a beat! Itâs seriously that good. đ Iâve been obsessed with their delicious food since they opened their first location in 2014 on the East Side. My excitement went through the roof when I discovered they were opening one on the west side! đ
My kids love watching the food cook in the custom-built tandoor clay ovens, and I love that they offer a kidâs menu. The food is always delicious and fresh. Iâm sure Iâll be back a million times (in the next week)! My go-to is a Choolaah chicken bowl with a chilled chai. My kids got the pizza on naan bread. I really donât think you can go wrong with anything on the menu! If youâre looking for a new food obsession, give this kid friendly restaurant a try!
SIBLING REVELRY BREWING
29305 Clemens Rd, Westlake, OH 44145
Sibling Revelry Brewing in Westlake is a great kid-friendly option for families.
We love the laid-back atmosphere and that they have a selection of free board and video games to keep the kids occupied while we wait for our food.
I got the Peppadewpig, and my husband got the Brewer Burger. Our food was fresh and delicious, and the kids' meals were only $6.
FYI, it is a seat-yourself restaurant. You place your order at the bar and pick up your food at the counter when it's done. You'll get a text notifying you when it's ready to be picked up.
fat heads brewery
24581 Lorain Rd,
North Olmsted, OH 44070
(See it on facebook)
Fat Headâs Brewery is a delicious local brewery. We stopped by for dinner at their North Olmsted location, and we had a fantastic dinner. I know it may seem odd to have a brewery on a kid friendly restaurant list, but Fat Headâs Brewery in North Olmsted has such a warm and welcoming vibe that we think is perfect for families. The bar at the North Olmsted location is also a separate space from their dining area.
We love that the brewery is large with plenty of seating (we didnât have to wait to be seated when we went ), they have a reasonably priced kids menu (starting at $5), and my daughter was excited to play skeeball while we waited for our food (4 quarters to play).
Check out Fat Headâs the next time youâre trying to decide where to go for your next family dinner out!
boomâs pizza Van aken
3427 Tuttle Rd,
Shaker Heights, OH 44122
(SEE IT ON INSTAGRAM)
We love Boomâs pizza, so we were super excited when they hosted so we could check out their newest location in the Van Aken District.
The pizza is fabulous (I canât emphasize enough how much I love putting hot honey on their pizza! đ), and the vibes are amazing! My kids loved their Kevin McCallister pizza and the little free dinos they got.đŚ The next time your family is craving a pizza night out, you canât go wrong with a visit to Booms!
Winking Lizard
2125 Center Rd, Avon, OH 44011
It had been so long since we last visited Winking Lizard I had forgotten how much we enjoyed it! Here are a few reasons Winking Lizard Tavern is on our family-friendly restaurant list:
đŚ The food is delicious! I had a Nashville chicken sandwich with fries and cheese dip.
đŚ Most of the kids' meals are only $6.
đŚ Louder atmosphere. This was particularly nice when our kids were younger because I didn't feel like we were disturbing other patrons with our fussy baby.
đŚ FREE popcorn. This is my kids' favorite part! We always get the popcorn once we place our food order. It's nice for the kids to get up and stretch their legs and have something to snack on while they wait for their food.
The next time you're looking for a family night out, check out one of Winking Lizard's several locations in Northeast Ohio.
Cozumel Mexican restaurant
16512 DETROIT AVE,
LAKEWOOD, OH 44107
(SEE IT ON INSTAGRAM)
My kids donât really like mexican food, so they stick with chicken fingers and burgers. They really like them. My husband is the adventurous one who will bounce around the menu. He loves Cozumel, too.
Here are just a few things our family loves about Cozumel.
-Complimentary chips and salsa come out right away. They keep my kids from complaining theyâre hungry until the food comes. And their salsa is soooo good. âď¸
-Each Cozumel location (they have 6!) is a decent size, and weâre normally seated right away. âď¸
-The food is fresh and fast! We all know kids donât last too long at a restaurant (just mine? đ¤Ł), so speediness is a double plus in my book lol. âď¸
-Kids menu with crayons đď¸ âď¸
-High chairs âď¸
-Louder atmosphere. I donât have to worry about my kids disturbing others. âď¸
-Kids meals âď¸.
Between The Buns
34445 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville, OH 44039
The food here was on point, and the service was, too. The burgers were juicy and seasoned well, and my buffalo chicken wrap was super tasty. My daughter got the chicken tenders off the kidsâ menu, and they were really good and very fresh. We also loved the crunch of their house chips.
They have a few free games to play while you wait for your food, like Jumbo Jenga, Jumbo Connect Four, Jumbo Connect, and tic-tac-toe. They also have a few paid games: a claw machine and billiards.
They offer a kidsâ menu, and the kids loved that the burger buns were stamped with their logo (I thought that was pretty cool, too). They are also known for their milkshakes, but it was pretty cold the night we went, so we didnât try any this time. Weâll definitely give them a go next time! The vibes seemed very kid-friendly, and there were a few other families there when we went.
