15 Best Toddler Friendly Playgrounds in Northeast Ohio

This list is compiled of some of our favorite toddler friendly playgrounds. Over the last year, a toddler friendly playground list has been the number one ask in our DM’s. I’ve been trying to create it for a while now, but every time I have gone to make it, I start overthinking what makes a playground toddler friendly. I even did a quick poll to figure out what others look for and got so many different answers! 🤪

So, rather than belabor this post any longer (and keep you all waiting forever!) I decided to just put playgrounds that I would take my toddler-aged children to. I’d encourage you to take the time to read through each description to see if it aligns with what you feel is a toddler-friendly playground.

1. EVERY CHILD'S PLAYGROUND
36265 DETROIT RD, AVON, OH 44011
(SEE IT ON INSTAGRAM)

Between the cute playhouses, Mommy and Me swings, and the very open layout with no large structures, we think Every Child’s Playground is the #1 toddler friendly playground in the Cleveland area.

PLAYGROUND FEATURES & MUST KNOWS:

  • Swings and double-person swings

  • Spinning structures

  • 4 Person We-Saw

  • Interactive game structure

  • Nature play area

  • Storybook trail

  • Climbing structures

  • Wheelchair accessible carousel

  • Cute house play structures

  • Swing zipline (IS NOT very toddler friendly)

  • Nice bathrooms

  • Partially turf and partially mulch.

2. OLMSTED FALLS PLAYGROUND NEAR LIBRARY
8100 MAPLEWAY DR, OLMSTED FALLS, OH 44138

I’m hesitant to include this one because it doesn’t have a bathroom, but every time I share about this playground, people comment how much they love it for their toddlers. It is right next to the library, so as long as you go during library hours, you can use the bathroom there.

This playground is such a great size for toddlers, and they fit a lot of equipment into the space even though it’s smaller.

It’s open and easy to keep an eye on your littles without having to chase them around the whole time. There are also no huge slides or climbing structures.

PLAYGROUND FEATURES & MUST KNOWS:

  • Four person We-Saw

  • Universal swing

  • Wheelchair accessible carousel

  • Swings

  • Slides

  • Small obstacle course

  • Wheelchair-accessible ramp on the main structure.

  • Poured Rubber Surfacing

  • Benches

  • NO BATHROOMS, but it is right next to the library. I suggest going during library hours.

3. MAYFIELD HEIGHTS PLAYGROUND (FULLY FENCED)
6080 MARSOL RD, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OH 44124

A FULLY FENCED playground is sooo hard to come by. If that’s what you’re looking for in a toddler friendly playground then Mayfield Heights playground has you covered.

When my kids were little littles, they were RUNNERS—so I know how valuable a fully-fenced in playground can be. And this one is loads of fun!

We stumbled upon this brand-new playground last summer, and it was an instant hit with our kids. This playground does have some tall slides but we still think its a great toddler friendly playground since it’s fully fenced, has lots of shade, rubber ground, two-person swings, and it’s not a huge playground.

The Mayfield Heights playground has so many great features!

  • Play structure geared toward 2-5 year olds

  • Play structure geared toward 5-12-year-olds

  • Accessible zip-line

  • Swings

  • Two-person swings

This one is good for toddlers but not ideal for babies as it doesn’t have any baby swings.

My kids always loved a good themed park when they were toddlers. This is a larger park, but it’s not huge and doesn’t have any crazy high slides. It also has the most double-person swings we’ve ever seen at a playground, and those were always a big hit when our kiddos were toddlers.

We love that this is tucked away in a neighborhood and not by any busy roads. It’s also smaller and very open so we found it easy to keep an eye on littles.

This playground actually had a complete rebuild last year, so it’s basically brand NEW!

There’s a cool carousel spinner, a saucer swing, a climbing structure, and swings.

Who's ready for a pirate ship playground?! It's not huge, but it's great for little kids, and my kids love themed playgrounds.

Other aspects we love about Rocky River Park are the fun steps to climb up to get a beautiful view of Lake Erie, and the fun, little spot to play on the beach.

  • Double-person swing

  • Wheelchair Accessible Carousel

LARGER TODDLER FRIENDLY PLAYGROUNDS

The next few playground suggestions are larger parks that I feel can sometimes be overwhelming for little ones, but they also seem to be some of my kids' absolute favorites.

These playgrounds do have a lot of great options for toddlers, so I wanted to include them. These were playgrounds that we usually only visited when my husband was able to come with us (having one set of eyes for both kids stressed me out!).

10. CLAGUE PARK
WESTLAKE, OH 44145
(SEE IT ON INSTAGRAM)

This playground has all the bells and whistles AAAAND it’s accessible! 🎉 This is on the larger side, but the layout does make it feel a bit more relaxed.

This playground has been a go-to since our kids were so little. It has an area designed or kids 2-5 which is also next to a safety town with little houses that my kids have always loved running around or riding their scooters on.

15. Sebastian’s Playground
6679 SOM Center Road, Solon, OH 44139

This is another completely fenced-in playground that was built brand new and opened summer 2025. It’s simply amazing!

There is one big climbing structure that I would say isn’t very toddler-friendly (depending on your toddler, of course), but everything else at this park seems very toddler-friendly.

This all-inclusive and FULLY fenced-in playground is dedicated in honor and loving memory of Sebastian Botirius.
