10 New Playgrounds to Visit in the Greater Cleveland Area 2025

Over the past year, Northeast Ohio has been leveling up its play spaces, with brand-new playgrounds and exciting expansions popping up in and around the Cleveland area. These arenโ€™t just the metal slides and wobbly seesaws we grew up with in the โ€˜90s. Todayโ€™s playgrounds are next-level, packed with splash pads, climbing structures, zip lines, and features that make them feel more like mini amusement parks (minus the crazy admission and food prices!).

If youโ€™re looking for fresh places to take the kids, weโ€™ve rounded up 10 of the newest and coolest playgrounds in the Cleveland area that are worth a visit this summer!

.1. BEACHWOOD PLAYGROUND
25125 FAIRMOUNT BLVD., BEACHWOOD, OH

East Side friends, you hit the playground jackpot! ๐ŸŽ‰ This brand-new fenced-in playground is a dream come true for kids who love to climb, swing, and explore. And when we say huge, we mean HUGEโ€”this place is packed with features that will keep little adventurers busy for hours.

Now, quick heads-up: while itโ€™s mostly fenced in, thereโ€™s one entrance with a gate and another side thatโ€™s openโ€”so not totally escape-proof for your little runners. But with this many epic play features, they wonโ€™t want to leave anyway! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hereโ€™s what makes this spot a must-visit playground in Northeast Ohio:

๐Ÿ› Sky-high fun: A 25-foot-tall tower for ultimate climbing adventures
๐Ÿ› Sandy adventures: A massive sandbox for digging and building
๐Ÿ› Safe landings: Poured rubber ground for softer falls
๐Ÿ› Climbing challenge: The Trekfit Summit Climber (first in Ohio!)
๐Ÿ› Inclusive play: A wheelchair swing + an accessible zip line
๐Ÿ› Make some noise: Interactive music equipment
๐Ÿ› Double the fun: A two-person swing so besties can swing together
๐Ÿ› Zoom away: A zip line for thrill-seekers
๐Ÿ› Next-level climbing: A huge climbing structure to conquer
๐Ÿ› Comfy playtime: Shade umbrellas for hot summer days
๐Ÿ› Essential amenities: Bathrooms + a pavilion with tables for snacks & breaks
๐Ÿ› Unique thrills: A rope swing (my personal fave) & an elevator (my daughterโ€™s top pick!)

This playground sets the bar high for new play spaces in Greater Clevelandโ€”so grab the sunscreen, pack some snacks, and check it out! ๐ŸŒž

2. Coventry Peace Playground
2843 Washington Blvd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118

Brand-new and absolutely amazingโ€”this playground just opened in February 2025! ๐Ÿคฉ

My kids were obsessed with climbing inside and outside the giant Cardinal (yep, itโ€™s a whole play structure!) before zooming down the super-fast slide. And if your crew loves a good thrill, theyโ€™ll be all over the rope swing and zip lineโ€”both kid-approved favorites.

While this new playground isnโ€™t quite as large as the old one, I actually think thatโ€™s a winโ€”itโ€™s so much easier to keep an eye on your kiddos without them disappearing behind a maze of equipment.

๐Ÿšฝ Restroom situation? We didnโ€™t spot any on-site, but the library is right next to the parking lot, making it a convenient backup.

This is definitely a must-visit new playground in Northeast Ohioโ€”perfect for burning off energy in the best way possible! ๐Ÿš€

3. STRONGSVILLE TOWN CENTER PLAYGROUND

401 REMSEN RD, MEDINA, OH 44256

Medina is about a 35 minute drive from Cleveland proper. But if you find yourself in Medina looking for fun, free things to do with kids and the weatherโ€™s nice I would recommend Allardale Park. Itโ€™s not a huge playground, but we alwyas love a good themed playground and it was a lot of fun and also a really peaceful setting. There are also some nice hiking trails.

The treehouse is intended for ALL ages and has a wheelchair lift and itโ€™s the newest addition to this already amazing park.

There is also a beautiful trail to walk along while seeing the beautiful lake and fountain. It also looks like they do kayak rentals now but we havenโ€™t done that yet.

They also have a pretty large playground with a zipline and a pirate ship playground ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ

9. BROOKLYN LIBRARY

7619 MEMPHIS AVE, BROOKLYN, OH 44144

Save this indoor playground for that next rainy day! This is a new FREE indoor playground and it isnโ€™t something you see every day. We were so excited to see an actual playground in the brand-new Brooklyn library.

The new childrenโ€™s space is the first of its kind in the 27-branch CCPL system. Itโ€™s not a very large playground, but my daughter had fun. They also have some toys available. The whole library is beautiful and inviting. Thereโ€™s even a fireplace! They also have an Innovation Center maker space that provides free access to computers, software, and production equipment. We got to watch a 3D printer in action while we were there.
