LEGOland Columbus

A little while ago, we took a quick trip south and had the opportunity to visit LEGOland Columbus.  Our kids loved it!The first thing we saw when walking up was a huge giraffe, made entirely out of LEGOs. Our kids were immediately excited when they saw the giant giraffe since the biggest LEGOs they had seen were the two-three inch ones we've built at home.

Legoland Columbus

We got there on a Monday at 11a, right when they opened and were greeted by their friendly staff.

Legoland Columbus Factory Tour

After checking in at the front desk, we went to our first experience room, The Factory Tour. In this room, you’re given a quick tour (via a large, interactive video screen) around a LEGO factory while you get to create your own LEGO character on screen. Our littles thought this part was super exciting. It was a great way to start the trip.

LEGOLAND COLUMBUS KINGDOM CONQUEST

After leaving the tour and heading into the next room, we found ourselves transported into a castle-themed LEGO experience called the Kingdom Quest. This area was the first of two exciting rides for kids. We hopped in a ship (train car) and set sail to take out the bad guys (with our little laser guns) to rescue the cuuuuutest little dinosaur. After we stepped out of the ship, the attendants sanitized the car to make sure everyone is staying safe.

LEGOLAND COLUMBUS CLEVELAND

From there, we made our way into Miniland, where there is all kinds of real-life places made into little LEGO sized displays. They even had a Cleveland replica with the Rock Hall, Free Stamp, Tower City, and other staples from The Land. Miniland had multiple interactive elements, like a boat race, a scavenger hunt, and a rock concert.

After leaving Miniland, we were given a large bag of sanitized LEGOS. So, we found the nearest table and got to work building!

The littles made a few fun creations and then ran over to the stop-animation creator studio to make their own LEGO video. I think this station was my favorite!

After doing some animations, my son built a few cars and took them over to the Build and Test Area where he got to race them down multiple sized ramps. One of them even had a button to hit that started a countdown and then released the cars down the hill. So cool!

After we were done building, the kids played in the playground for a bit. The playground is really big but only has one place to enter and exit, which is always a huge plus for me. There’s also a smaller playground for kids under 5, which is nice.

The playground is limited to 15 kids (there were only a few when we were there) and is regularly closed for short breaks to be cleaned.

After the playground, we saw a 4D movie. This was the first time my kids experienced a 4D movie, and it blew their minds. BONUS: we had the whole theater to ourselves!

Once the movie was over, my daughter and I hopped on another ride called Merlin’s Apprentice. This was her favorite part of LEGOland. She made me ride it at least four times with her because she loved it so much.

The car you ride in looks like a wizard’s hang glider. While you’re going in circles, you can use the peddles to lift the glider up into the air.

LEGOland is currently offering special $20 tickets when you book online, which is great. They're also limiting the number of people inside the facility; they require masks for everyone over 5 yrs, and they seem to do a great job sanitizing everything to make sure everything stays clean and safe.
